Police are investigating a small explosion outside the Israel Centre in Nijkerk that caused limited damage but no injuries. Authorities say a person dressed in black placed the device and have appealed for witnesses; no arrests have been made. Christians for Israel described the blast as part of a pattern of attacks targeting Jewish sites and noted its timing on the eve of Easter. Investigators warned it is too soon to determine a motive as inquiries continue amid related incidents across Europe.
Small Explosion Outside Pro‑Israel Christian Centre in Nijkerk Investigated amid Europe‑Wide Tensions

A small explosion outside the Israel Centre in Nijkerk, in the central Netherlands, is under investigation after causing limited damage on Friday night. The centre, operated by the non-profit Christians for Israel, reported no injuries.
Police said investigators determined "a person dressed in black placed the explosive device" and have appealed for witnesses. Authorities confirmed that no arrests have been made as inquiries continue.
Christians for Israel said on its website that it was shocked by the blast and believes the incident fits a pattern of attacks on Jewish sites intended to sow fear. The group noted the timing — on the eve of Easter — made the incident especially distressing.
Police cautioned that it is too early to establish a motive. The episode follows a series of nighttime attacks in Belgium, Britain and the Netherlands, which have included arson against volunteer ambulances in London, a car set on fire in Antwerp, explosives detonated at synagogues in Liège and Rotterdam, and an attack on a Jewish school in Amsterdam. Some of those incidents have been claimed by a little-known Islamist group that officials say may have links to Iran, but investigations into links and motives remain ongoing.
"Investigations revealed that a person dressed in black placed the explosive device," police said in a statement.
Police urged anyone with CCTV, dashcam footage or other information to come forward to assist the investigation as authorities continue to examine the incident.
