By Nayera Abdallah and Menna AlaaElDin
March 20 (Reuters) - Thousands of people have been reported killed across the Middle East since U.S. and Israeli strikes on Iran on Feb. 28 and Iran's subsequent attacks on Israel, U.S. bases and Gulf states. The figures below are those reported by Friday and have not been independently verified by Reuters.
Note: Reported totals come from a variety of sources, including local authorities, rights groups, state media and international agencies. Some figures conflict and Reuters has not reconciled discrepancies.
Iran
The U.S.-based rights group HRANA reported 3,186 people killed, saying 1,394 of those were civilians, including at least 210 children. HRANA said it compiles totals from field reports, local contacts, medical and emergency sources, civil society networks, open-source materials and official statements. State media in Iran gave a lower toll of 1,270, and Iran's U.N. ambassador said on March 6 that at least 1,332 people had died; officials have not clarified the discrepancy. It was also unclear whether those counts included about 104 people the Iranian military said were killed in a U.S. strike on an Iranian warship off Sri Lanka on March 4.
Lebanon
Lebanese authorities reported around 1,021 people killed in Israeli strikes since March 2. The World Health Organization and Lebanese health officials said more than 100 of those killed were children.
Iraq
Iraqi authorities said at least 60 people have been killed, most of them members of the Shi'ite Popular Mobilisation Forces. Port security officials also reported one foreign crew member was killed in an attack on tankers near an Iraqi port.
Israel and Occupied West Bank
Israel's ambulance service reported 15 civilian deaths, including nine people killed in an Iranian missile strike on Beit Shemesh near Jerusalem on March 1. The Israeli military said two soldiers were killed in southern Lebanon. Separately, an Iranian missile strike in the occupied West Bank killed four Palestinian women.
United States
Thirteen U.S. service members have been reported killed: six confirmed dead after a U.S. refuelling aircraft crashed over Iraq, and seven others killed in action during operations related to Iran.
United Arab Emirates
The UAE defence ministry reported eight people killed in Iranian attacks, including two army personnel.
Kuwait
Authorities reported six fatalities: two people killed in Iranian strikes, two interior ministry officers and two army soldiers.
Syria
State news agency SANA reported four people were killed when an Iranian missile struck a building in the southern city of Sweida on Feb. 28.
Oman
Two people were reported killed on March 13 in a drone strike on an industrial zone in Sohar province — the first confirmed fatalities inside Oman during the crisis. Separately, a vessel manager said one person died earlier when a projectile hit a tanker off the coast of Muscat.
Saudi Arabia
Two people were killed when a projectile struck a residential area in Al-Kharj, southeast of Riyadh.
Bahrain
The interior ministry said two people died in separate Iranian attacks, the most recent hitting a residential building in Manama.
France
A French soldier was killed and six others wounded in a drone attack in northern Iraq, where they were providing counterterrorism training.
Reporting note: Reuters compiled these reported death tolls from multiple sources; it has not independently verified the totals and figures may change as more information becomes available.
