Jurors in the trial of former DeRidder mayor Misty Roberts heard testimony that a DoorDash driver delivered Plan B to her home after a July 2024 party where prosecutors say a 16-year-old was allegedly assaulted. Roberts, 43, faces charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile after a prior indictment was vacated. Witnesses and recorded interviews were shown to jurors, though key witnesses said they could not definitively identify sexual activity. Court will resume at 9 a.m. Saturday.
DoorDash Driver Testifies Plan B Was Delivered to Former Louisiana Mayor’s Home After Alleged July 2024 Assault

Jurors in the trial of former DeRidder, Louisiana, mayor Misty Roberts heard testimony this week that a DoorDash driver delivered a dose of Plan B emergency contraception to her home shortly after a July 2024 party where prosecutors allege a teenage boy was sexually assaulted.
Roberts, 43, was re-arraigned earlier this month on charges of carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile after a previous indictment was vacated. Authorities say the alleged victim was 16 at the time of the July gathering. Roberts was first arrested in August 2024 on accusations that included third-degree rape and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles; she resigned as mayor of DeRidder days before turning herself in.
During testimony, a DoorDash driver told the jury he accepted an order placed under the name "Misty C" for Plan B and left the emergency contraceptive at Roberts’ residence. The driver said he recognized the house because he had taken his children there for trick-or-treating in the past.
Prosecutors also played portions of a recorded 2025 interview with Roberts’ son conducted by a child advocacy center. In that recording the son said he believed he saw his mother and a friend engaging in sexual activity during the July 2024 party. On the stand, however, the son told jurors he could not definitively confirm what he had seen, saying it only appeared that way "in his human mind." Roberts’ nephew gave similar testimony: he said their movements led him to believe sexual activity was occurring but that he did not see any "private parts."
The case has experienced multiple delays: an earlier indictment was quashed and a mistrial was declared before prosecutors re-indicted Roberts and proceedings resumed. Court is scheduled to reconvene at 9 a.m. on Saturday, according to local outlets reporting on the trial.
