The first U.S. court appearance for ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been scheduled in the Southern District of New York after he and his wife, Cilia Flores, were indicted on drug-related charges. Maduro is due in court at noon ET on Monday to face counts including narcoterrorism, drug and weapons charges. (NewsNation) — The first U.S. court appearance for ousted Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro has been scheduled, NewsNation reports, after he and his wife, Cilia Flores, were indicted on drug-related charges.

Maduro is expected to appear in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York at noon ET on Monday, where he will face multiple counts, including narcoterrorism, drug and weapons charges.

According to the report, U.S. forces captured Maduro on Saturday at the direction of President Donald Trump. The U.S. military reportedly conducted strikes on Venezuela’s capital, Caracas, before detaining Maduro and transporting him to New York City.
