At a Vandalia, Ohio campaign event, Donald Trump was interrupted when a protester loudly accused him of being a "rapist," prompting boos from MAGA supporters and removal by security. Video of the incident was shared on X, including footage from the protester’s perspective. The episode revived attention to Trump’s civil losses in suits brought by E. Jean Carroll — judgments that have cost him millions and remain politically sensitive as he campaigns ahead of competitive midterm races.
Trump Interrupted at Ohio Rally After Protester Shouts 'Rapist' — Crowd Reacts

Donald Trump, 80, was interrupted during a campaign event in Vandalia, Ohio, when a protester shouted accusations, calling the former president a "rapist" and a "liar." The outburst briefly halted Trump's remarks before MAGA supporters booed the heckler and security escorted the person out of the venue.
Video of the exchange was posted on X by media strategist Vince D. Monroy, who later posted additional footage from the protester’s vantage point. In that clip the protester can be heard shouting that Trump "raped E. Jean Carroll" and demanding the release of related files. A security guard is audible instructing staff to remove the demonstrator, and the crowd cheered as the person was led away.
Liar, you're a liar. Why don't you tell people the truth. You rapist, Rapist! You raped E. Jean Carroll. Rapist! Release the files.
The incident renewed focus on Trump’s legal setbacks related to E. Jean Carroll. His appeal of a civil judgment tied to Carroll’s claims was rejected by the Supreme Court, and he was recently ordered to pay millions in damages stemming from a 2023 lawsuit in which a jury found him civilly liable for sexually abusing and defaming Carroll.
Jurors concluded there was not enough evidence to satisfy New York's strict legal definition of rape as it stood at the time of the alleged assault; the state later broadened that definition in 2024. The judge in the civil case subsequently said the verdict showed Carroll had proven conduct that would be commonly described as rape.
Carroll also prevailed in separate defamation litigation against Trump that resulted in additional multi-million-dollar awards. Taken together, the verdicts and judgments have become a recurring political vulnerability for Trump on the campaign trail.
The interruption was one of several disruptions during the Vandalia appearance. Trump appeared visibly irritated by repeated heckling and at one point lashed out, urging supporters to vote and using a crude taunt that drew loud cheers from the crowd.
Trump is touring key states as Republicans prepare for competitive midterm races, with party strategists warning that weak approval numbers and controversial endorsements are complicating the GOP’s efforts to hold its House and Senate majorities. The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
