Georgia Parents Arrested, Charged With Second-Degree Murder in 2-Year-Old Daughter’s Death

Conyers, Ga. — Rafael Pedron Wynn, 30, and Kerri Dysart, 28, were arrested on Sept. 24 and have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of their 2-year-old daughter, Nevaeh Wynn, the Conyers Police Department said in a press release on Oct. 1.
Officers initially responded on May 3 to a report of an unresponsive child at the family home. Nevaeh was transported to Piedmont Rockdale Hospital, where medical staff later pronounced her dead.
Investigation and Evidence
Following the May incident, detectives conducted a criminal investigation and obtained a search warrant for the couple’s residence. Police reported recovering items that included used nitrous oxide canisters and an empty container of kratom capsules. The DeKalb County Medical Examiner’s Office assisted investigators and ultimately classified Nevaeh’s death as a homicide.
Both Wynn and Dysart are being held in the Rockdale County Jail without bond, according to jail records. Conyers police said the investigation remains active as detectives continue to develop the case.
