LaMelo Ball’s Baby Mama Ana Montana Arrested After Alleged Fraudulent Prescriptions

Ana Montana (legal name Analicia Chaves), who shares a son with NBA guard LaMelo Ball, was arrested Monday in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, on multiple drug-related charges, according to booking records and court paperwork.
Charges and Allegations
Authorities say Chaves faces two felony counts of obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or forgery and two misdemeanor counts of simple possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance. She was held on a $20,000 bond tied to the felony allegations.
The arrest warrant alleges that Chaves obtained alprazolam — the generic form of Xanax — from a Walgreens pharmacy after presenting prescriptions written using a doctor’s allegedly stolen DEA registration and medical provider identification (NPI). The alleged conduct dates to February 21, and a warrant for Chaves was issued on September 22, six days before her arrest.
Defense Comment
Chaves’s lawyer told reporters: "To clarify, the charges allege that a doctor who used a fraudulent DEA registration and NPI number prescribed Alprazolam for Ms. Chaves, and that she used the prescription written by the doctor to obtain the prescribed Alprazolam at a pharmacy. The drug possession charges appear to allege that she possessed the aforementioned Alprazolam upon obtaining it from the pharmacy via the prescription written by the doctor."
Personal Context
Chaves and Ball share a son, LaOne, who was born in January 2026 and whose birth the couple publicly revealed on Mother’s Day in May. Ball was traded from the Charlotte Hornets to the Minnesota Timberwolves in June; the team’s regular season was reported to begin in roughly three weeks.
Authorities continue to investigate the alleged use of a stolen medical provider identity to obtain controlled substances. Booking records reviewed by reporters did not include additional details about upcoming court dates or further legal proceedings.
