Tori Branum, a Marine veteran from Georgia, says her college-age daughter — a national championship cheerleader on a full-ride scholarship — was allegedly assaulted by her boyfriend only weeks after moving to Pennsylvania for school. Branum shared the story in a TikTok video and described severe injuries and what she says was an attempt to conceal evidence.
Allegations Filed By The Mother
Branum told viewers she woke at 3 a.m. with an anxiety attack and felt compelled to act. According to Branum's account, while riding in a car with friends the boyfriend — reportedly intoxicated — struck the daughter in the mouth. Branum says a tooth pierced the daughter's lip, and the attacker then allegedly pressed the girl's head into a car window.
Claims Of Interference And Withheld Care
Branum alleges the daughter begged to be let out of the car but was prevented from leaving. She also claims that when they arrived at the boyfriend's home, his mother forced the injured student to change out of bloody clothes and took the daughter's phone, blocking calls to her father or emergency services. Branum says the boyfriend's mother did not seek medical care for the injuries.
“The mother withheld medical care for my child? Held my child hostage in the house?” Branum said in the video, adding that she intends to pursue legal action if authorities do not act.
Family Response And Legal Steps
Branum said her husband — a combat veteran — rushed to the scene and was pulled over twice while speeding to reach their daughter. She credits state troopers with following him to a gas station where, she says, an arrest was made. The family has launched a GoFundMe to help cover legal expenses.
Branum has publicly vowed to exhaust legal options and to expose the boyfriend's mother if the justice system does not act, saying, in her words, “All I'm gonna say is, I hope the legal system works the way that it needs to, because if not, I will make this lady famous.”
