Allegations and arrest: KUTV reports the victim escaped the home and called police after Baird allegedly went to the basement following what she described as hours of abuse. Deputies who responded observed visible injuries and transported the woman to a hospital for treatment.

At the hospital, the elderly woman told investigators that Baird entered her bedroom and assaulted her from about 1:00 a.m. until roughly 6:30 a.m. She described being punched, thrown to the ground, having her wrists and ankles twisted, and being struck with a cellphone.
