F-16 fighter jets intercepted and escorted two aircraft out of a temporary flight restriction zone near President Trump’s Bedminster, New Jersey, golf club on Sunday, NORAD said.

Media reports placed the intercept close to the course where Trump spent the weekend; the military provided no further details on the number of jets or the intruding aircraft.

NORAD reminded pilots to verify current airspace restrictions, noting that TFRs are routinely used to protect presidential locations.

US fighter jets intercepted two aircraft that entered a temporary flight restriction (TFR) zone around President Donald Trump’s golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey, the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and US media reported.

NORAD said F-16s carried out the intercept on Sunday and escorted the planes safely out of the restricted airspace. Authorities reported no injuries or damage and described the situation as contained.

What Happened

Fox News and the New York Post reported the interception occurred near Trump’s Bedminster golf course, where he spent the weekend. The US military did not disclose how many fighter jets were involved or provide additional details about the aircraft that breached the TFR.

Context and Safety Reminder

Temporary flight restrictions are routinely imposed around locations where US presidents are staying for security reasons. Violations occur occasionally and most often involve smaller private or general aviation aircraft rather than commercial flights.

NORAD urged pilots to check current airspace restrictions before every flight to avoid inadvertent incursions into restricted zones.

Investigations into such incidents typically focus on whether the violation was due to navigation error, miscommunication, or deliberate action. Further details have not been released while officials review the incident.
