Sen. Jon Ossoff's campaign circulated praise from conservative radio host Erick Erickson, who credited Ossoff's constituent services with earning support across party lines. Political forecasters recently moved Georgia's Senate rating to Likely Democratic, and Ossoff holds a significant fundraising advantage with more than $42 million in cash on hand. Republican nominee Mike Collins faces fundraising challenges, weak polling and a controversy tied to his son‑in‑law, and Erickson said Collins' MAGA‑focused messaging may struggle with suburban voters.

Sen. Jon Ossoff's campaign amplified praise from an uncommon source for a Democrat: conservative radio host Erick Erickson, who highlighted Ossoff's responsiveness to constituents across party lines.

Ossoff has represented Georgia in the U.S. Senate since he and Sen. Raphael Warnock won runoff elections on Jan. 5, 2021. Larry Sabato's Crystal Ball at the University of Virginia Center for Politics recently shifted the state's Senate rating from Leans Democratic to Likely Democratic, noting that Ossoff is "the only Democrat running for reelection in a state that Donald Trump carried in 2024."

Ossoff is one of the cycle's top fundraisers, reporting more than $42 million in cash on hand and holding a steady lead in public polls against Republican Rep. Mike Collins (R‑GA). Collins emerged from a bruising primary and runoff with depleted resources and now faces additional headwinds, including weak polling and a controversy tied to white‑nationalist posts by his son‑in‑law. Sabato described the contrast by saying the two candidates "entered the general election in different financial universes."

Erickson Spotlighted Constituent Service

Erickson — a longtime Georgia resident and former Macon city council member — emphasized constituent service as a key factor in Ossoff's appeal. The Ossoff campaign circulated clips of Erickson praising the senator's responsiveness to Georgians regardless of party.

"His constituent services — he's learned. You talk to farmers in South Georgia, they can get him on the phone. They can get his staff on the phone. They can get help. You talk to Republicans in Houston County — a very Republican part of the state — they know they can reach out to Ossoff, and he doesn't care that they're Republican. If they need something, he's going to get it done."

The campaign also shared a clip in which Erickson criticized Collins' approach to general‑election messaging: "The problem we've got now in the Senate race for Republicans is that Mike Collins — he's run the entire race as MAGA. You watch his advertising, still, he's wrapped himself around Donald Trump. He's not making a case to the suburban voters, and Jon Ossoff is."

By highlighting Erickson's remarks and the favorable ratings shift from political analysts, the Ossoff campaign is underscoring a narrative of bipartisan outreach, strong fundraising, and an advantage heading into the general election.
