Qatar, Egypt and Turkey jointly condemned recent Israeli strikes in Gaza, calling attacks on medical facilities and resulting civilian casualties a "flagrant violation" of international law. The mediators said the strikes breach the ceasefire and urged protection for civilians, health workers and unhindered humanitarian access. They called on the international community to pressure Israel to meet its legal and ceasefire commitments amid continued intermittent clashes.

Mediator states Qatar, Egypt and Turkey issued a joint condemnation on Monday of recent Israeli strikes across the Gaza Strip, saying the attacks undermine progress toward a phased ceasefire and violate international humanitarian law.

Joint Statement and Main Concerns

In a joint statement, the three countries voiced "their strong condemnation and denunciation of the ongoing Israeli violations in the Gaza Strip." They described strikes that hit healthcare facilities and medical infrastructure—as well as the civilian casualties they caused—as a "flagrant violation" of international law.

"The mediators stress the need for Israel to comply with all of its obligations under international law and to fully uphold its commitments under the ceasefire agreement," the statement said.

Humanitarian Impact and Calls for Protection

The mediators underscored that civilians, medical personnel and humanitarian workers must be protected and that aid and medical supplies should be allowed to reach communities across Gaza without obstruction. They said the recent strikes breached the ceasefire and impeded efforts to implement its second phase.

Recent Violence and Casualties

News reports said Israel carried out further strikes over the weekend that killed several Palestinians. The Israeli military confirmed operations it said targeted and killed senior Hamas commanders, while Palestinian sources reported that a missile struck an apartment in Gaza City, killing a child.

Ceasefire Context and Governance

A ceasefire has been in effect since October 2025, but deadly strikes and clashes have continued intermittently. An internationally staffed Board of Peace was established earlier this year under a US-brokered plan to oversee Gaza's reconstruction and post-war governance. Israel still controls more than half of the sealed-off coastal territory, while Hamas has consolidated authority in the areas of Gaza that remain under its control since the ceasefire began.

International Response Sought

The mediators urged the international community to "exert the necessary pressure on Israel to fulfil its obligations under international law and the ceasefire agreement," calling for diplomatic measures that would protect civilians and preserve the ceasefire's implementation.
