Trump Shares Fabricated Image Placing Himself Between Washington and Lincoln — Sparks Praise and Mockery
Donald Trump appeared to place himself in the same league as former presidents George Washington and Abraham Lincoln after sharing an image of the three of them on Truth Social (@realDonaldTrump/Truth Social)

Donald Trump posted a doctored image on Truth Social that places him alongside George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, prompting both praise from supporters and ridicule from critics. The image — one of roughly 40 posts over a single weekend — circulated widely on X, where some users further edited it to mock the president. White House aides, including Natalie Harp, have reportedly helped coordinate clusters of posts on Trump’s account.

Donald Trump posted a fabricated image on Truth Social showing himself alongside George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, appearing to place himself in the company of two of the nation’s most revered presidents.

The edited graphic depicts the three figures signing what looks like a map of the United States with quill pens. The image was uploaded Sunday evening without caption or explanation, and it quickly circulated online.

Mixed Reactions

MAGA supporters reshared the picture on X (formerly Twitter), praising the three as "three American legends." Others repurposed the image to mock the president: some replaced Washington and Lincoln with the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, while others altered the picture to show Mr. Trump as a clown. One critic called the post "deranged."

Context: A Weekend of Manipulated Posts

Between Saturday and Sunday, the president posted roughly 40 times on Truth Social, sharing a stream of manipulated images, flattering articles, and photos that amplified his public persona. Over the weekend he posted images and captions that included claims he is "aging in reverse," a comparison to Elvis Presley, and a picture of himself sitting with a younger version of Trump captioned "Same guy. Even more energy now!"

Other altered posts cast him as a Revolutionary War leader, showed him kissing a depiction of Jesus on a cross, or placed him overlooking Greenland — a reference to his earlier public comments about the island.

Who Helps Manage The Posts

White House aides sometimes help the president manage his Truth Social output. The New York Times reported that Natalie Harp has access to Trump’s account and coordinates clusters of posts with his approval.

Trump Has Previously Said: "They Said, 'Sir, If Abraham Lincoln And George Washington Came Back From The Dead, They Couldn't Beat You.'"

The episode underscores how the president uses social platforms to shape his image and energize supporters, while also drawing ridicule and criticism online.
