How To Watch
USA TODAY will stream the president’s remarks live on YouTube. The White House will also post video of the event on its official website.
Why Wheeler High And Cobb County
Wheeler High School is part of the Cobb County School District, the state’s second-largest district and the 23rd-largest in the nation, enrolling more than 105,000 students. According to the district, Cobb students rank first among Atlanta-area systems on Georgia Milestones assessments and regularly score above state and national averages on the ACT and SAT.
"We look forward to welcoming the president and showcasing the high-quality academic choices which make Cobb the best place to raise a family," John Floresta, the district’s Chief Strategy and Accountability Officer, said in a statement.
About "Trump Accounts"
The choice of a high school setting underscores the administration’s focus on young Americans as it highlights the recently launched Trump Accounts program. Launched on July 4, the program pledges a $1,000 federal seed contribution for children born between 2025 and 2028 and is structured similarly to a youth individual retirement account. Children under age 18 may open an account through a parent or legal guardian, but minors who open an account now will not receive the initial $1,000 federal contribution.
"President Trump is giving every American child a head start on life, a nest egg to grow up with, and a real stake in their own future through Trump Accounts," White House spokeswoman Liz Huston said.
Local officials and residents should expect increased traffic and possible road closures near Wheeler High School during the event. Media and members of the public are advised to consult local traffic updates and the White House ticketing page for the latest information.
