President Volodymyr Zelensky plans intensive talks with allies at upcoming G7, EU and NATO summits to press for new sanctions on Russia and increased military aid. He is prioritizing strengthened air-defence systems, long-range weapons and investment deals to boost Ukrainian drone production. The sequence of meetings starts with the G7 in France, continues at the EU summit in Brussels and culminates at the NATO summit in Turkey in the second week of July.
Zelensky to Push Allies for New Sanctions, Air Defence and Drone Investment at G7, EU and NATO Summits

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday he will hold intensive talks with partner states across a series of high-level summits in the coming weeks, aiming to step up pressure on Russia and secure critical military and economic support for Ukraine.
Zelensky said the meetings will concentrate on fresh sanctions targeting Russia, stepped-up aid for Ukraine and concrete measures to strengthen the country’s air-defence capabilities and supply long-range weapons.
Key Priorities
- Sanctions: Push for new, coordinated sanctions to increase economic pressure on Russia.
- Air Defence & Long-Range Weapons: Secure enhanced air-defence systems and commitments on longer-range capabilities.
- Drone Production Investments: Advance agreements that would attract foreign investment into Ukrainian drone manufacturing in exchange for deliveries of finished drones.
Zelensky pointed to a sequence of meetings that begins with a Group of Seven (G7) gathering in France early in the week, followed by an EU summit in Brussels and a NATO summit in Turkey scheduled for the second week of July.
Ukraine has been resisting a Russian invasion for more than four years with sustained backing from Western partners; Zelensky is using the upcoming summits to press allies for tangible commitments and faster delivery timelines.
Why It Matters: Coordinated sanctions, improved air defence and investment in domestic drone production could materially affect Ukraine’s ability to defend territory and sustain long-term military resilience.
