Three Killed, Officer Wounded in Sandy, Oregon, Shooting — Suspect Arrested After Surrender

Three people were killed and one police officer was wounded in a shooting Sunday afternoon in Sandy, a city east of Portland, Oregon, authorities said.
Sandy Police Chief Patrick Huskey said the incident began at about 4 p.m. PT when officers responded to a reported domestic disturbance and came under gunfire. Officers returned fire, and deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office also joined the response. One officer suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was evacuated by a Life Flight helicopter; the chief described the officer’s condition as stable and said they are expected to survive.
Law enforcement identified the suspect as Bryan Andrew Moore. According to court documents cited by CBS affiliate KOIN, three people were killed. Moore faces several charges, including three counts of second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree kidnapping. Officers located and surrounded a residential property before the arrest; the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody at roughly 8 p.m. without injury.
"I understand everyone wants answers and information right now, but this remains a very dynamic and active investigation," Chief Huskey said. "Investigators from the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office and the Clackamas County Major Crimes Team are working to process the scene, conduct interviews, and to get the answers our community deserves."
A shelter-in-place order for a southeastern section of Sandy was issued earlier in the day and later lifted after a few hours. Authorities say there is no known ongoing threat to the surrounding community. Investigators continue to process the scene, collect evidence and interview witnesses as the probe remains active.
Community Note: Chief Huskey called the shooting a "traumatic event for our community and the Sandy Police Department" and asked residents to keep the victims, the injured officer, their families, friends and first responders in their thoughts while investigators work to determine the full circumstances.
