Kamala Harris will visit four Southern state Democratic events in April, starting with fundraisers in North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia the week of April 13 and a keynote in Little Rock on April 25. The visits follow recent appearances, including the National Women’s Law Center gala, and come as other Democrats quietly seek information about her future plans. Harris has not decided whether she will run in 2028; the itinerary echoes her 2020 “SEC strategy” aimed at delegate-rich Southern primaries. She is also concluding a six-month book tour and has recorded ads for the DNC and a Virginia ballot measure.
Exclusive: Kamala Harris To Tour Southern Democratic Events In April — Fundraisers In NC, SC, GA And Arkansas Keynote

As speculation continues about her political future, Kamala Harris will make a multi-state swing to Democratic Party events across the South in April, a person familiar with her plans told CNN.
Harris’s itinerary begins the week of April 13 with fundraisers for the North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia state parties. She will then deliver the keynote address at the Arkansas Democrats’ annual Fisher Shackelford Dinner in Little Rock on April 25. These stops follow her recent appearance at the National Women’s Law Center annual gala in Washington and another speaking engagement scheduled later in April.
Why The Tour Matters
The outreach is drawing attention from other Democrats weighing 2028 bids, who are quietly seeking information about her plans. Harris has not made a decision about a 2028 run, the person said, but the geographic pattern recalled her 2020 campaign’s so-called “SEC strategy” — focusing on delegate-rich Southern states with large Black primary electorates to offset potential weaknesses in some early-voting states.
Harris is also wrapping up roughly six months on a national book tour promoting her campaign memoir, which brought her before dozens of friendly audiences after its publication last September. Around that time she declined to enter the California governor’s race and said she planned to step back from government work while helping to energize Democrats for the midterms.
Political Activity And Endorsements
She has recorded advertisements for the Democratic National Committee and for a Virginia Democrats ballot proposition set for the April 21 vote. In the closing days of the Texas Senate primary runoff, Harris endorsed Rep. Jasmine Crockett. She has since been in touch with the primary winner, James Talarico, and with other recent primary victors including Juliana Stratton in Illinois and Scott Colom in Mississippi.
Last year Harris also endorsed Helena Moreno in New Orleans, Zohran Mamdani in New York, and former aide Dan Koh in his congressional primary in Massachusetts.
“Listening,” Harris said at a late-February fundraiser in Cleveland when Rep. Emilia Sykes asked what she had been doing lately.
Invitations for many of the April events are expected to go out in the coming days. Observers say the stops will be watched closely for signals about Harris’s future political calculations and her continuing role in Democratic organizing and campaigning.
