Orlando Woman Arrested After Allegedly Jumping On SUV, Punching Pregnant Driver and Biting Officer During Road-Rage Incident

On Feb. 23, the Orlando Police Department (OPD) arrested 37-year-old Mandolyn Shaffer-Brockwell after an alleged road‑rage confrontation in the Millenia Boulevard area that left two civilians and a police officer injured, authorities and local media reported.
What Happened
According to an OPD news release and video shared by the department, Shaffer-Brockwell is seen jumping onto the hood of a white SUV, opening the driver’s door and striking the woman inside. The driver — reported to be 35 and pregnant — told investigators a child was in the vehicle during the attack.
Police say a 68‑year‑old witness who stepped out of her car to intervene was then scratched and struck by the suspect. When officers located Shaffer‑Brockwell, they say she violently resisted arrest and bit an officer’s arm while being restrained.
"Video shows the suspect, Mandolyn Shaffer‑Brockwell, attacking and injuring an elderly victim. The victim provided a description of Shaffer‑Brockwell and her vehicle, and an officer quickly located her," the OPD said. "When the officer attempted to detain her, she refused to comply, violently resisted, and bit the officer while trying to avoid being handcuffed."
Charges
Shaffer‑Brockwell faces multiple charges, including:
- Battery on a Person 65 Years or Older
- Burglary of a Conveyance With Assault/Battery
- Aggravated Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer
- Resisting an Officer With Violence
