According to The New York Times, Marjorie Taylor Greene forwarded an anonymous email threatening her college-aged son to Donald Trump, and says his reply failed to address the threat and instead insulted her. The pair have publicly broken over policy disputes and transparency related to Epstein files, a divide that culminated in Trump’s November attacks on Truth Social. Greene told 60 Minutes she received multiple threats, some aimed at her son, and said officials’ responses were insufficient.
Trump’s Cold Reply After Marjorie Taylor Greene Reportedly Received Death Threats Against Her Son

Donald Trump is accused of responding dismissively after Marjorie Taylor Greene alerted him to death threats aimed at her college-aged son, according to reporting by The New York Times.
What Was Reported
After an acrimonious split from the former ally earlier this year, Greene says she began receiving hostile mail. One anonymous email allegedly used a subject line echoing a nickname Trump had reportedly given her the day before — “Marjorie Traitor Greene” — and included a line about her son:
“Derek will have his life snuffed out soon. Better watch his back.”
Greene says she forwarded a copy of that email to Trump by text. According to a source cited by The New York Times, Trump’s lengthy reply made no mention of the threat and instead insulted Greene personally. When she pushed back — arguing that children should be kept out of political disputes — the newspaper reports Trump responded that she "had only herself to blame."
Widening Rift
Once a staunch MAGA ally, Greene’s relationship with Trump has frayed repeatedly during his second term. She has publicly broken with him over issues including U.S. airstrikes on Iran, aid to Ukraine and the expiration of certain health-care subsidies. Her push for greater transparency around the administration’s handling of files related to Jeffrey Epstein is reported to have been a key factor in the split.
In November, Trump publicly severed ties with Greene, posting vitriolic messages on Truth Social that labeled her a "lunatic" and urged an end to her political career. Greene has said she declined to reveal the full content of private messages exchanged with Trump after they parted ways.
Greene’s Account And Official Responses
In a recent interview on 60 Minutes, Greene confirmed she’d received several death threats, including multiple messages directed at her son, and said those threats were "directly fueled by President Trump." She also said Vice President J.D. Vance told her "we'll look into it," while characterizing Trump’s response as "wasn't very nice" and "extremely unkind."
