Donald Trump again posted an AI-generated image to his Truth Social account depicting himself looming over a map-focused view of the Northern Hemisphere, with Greenland prominent near the center. The graphic appeared alongside a terse, two-word caption: "His Hemisphere", and no additional explanation, according to The Daily Beast.
The artwork places a towering likeness of Trump above a globe view of the North, emphasizing Greenland’s position near the center of the composition. The post came shortly after Trump said Washington had reached an understanding with Denmark and Greenland about U.S. security responsibilities on the Arctic island.
On Truth Social, Trump wrote that the arrangement gives America the ability to protect Greenland and the United States "FOREVER" and called the plan "a great one" for the US, Denmark, Greenland and other allies. That characterization drew sharper, narrower language from officials in Copenhagen and Nuuk.
"I am pleased on Greenland's behalf that we are nearing the conclusion of an agreement – an agreement that benefits not only our collective security but also the continued development of this country," said Jens-Frederik Nielsen, Prime Minister of Greenland, according to Reuters.
Denmark and Greenland have emphasized that the agreement is intended to preserve Greenland’s sovereignty rather than transfer control. Still, Trump’s social-media imagery reinforces months of attention from him on the island’s strategic value. During his recent term in office he has repeatedly highlighted Greenland’s importance to U.S. strategy and at times suggested the United States should acquire the territory; he has also shared maps placing Greenland alongside areas he frames as within an expanded American sphere.
Earlier this month, a separate Trump post showed Greenland, Canada, Iceland and nearby regions beneath an American flag; Iceland’s foreign minister, Þórdís Kolbrún R. Gylfadóttir (Thorgerdur Gunnarsdottir in some reports), called that image "completely inappropriate," Reuters reported.
