Video posted by Brian Osorio Zuluaga shows rescuers pulling a baby alive from the rubble after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia. The footage captures frantic efforts to free both the infant and an adult trapped beneath debris, while volunteers and neighbors work with their bare hands. Officials reported at least 181 dead and 2,595 injured; civilian tallies estimate nearly 4,000 unaccounted for. International aid offers include more than $15 million from the U.S. and two planes with about 100 tons of aid from El Salvador.

Video shared on social media shows a young baby being pulled alive from the wreckage of a collapsed building after a 7.0-magnitude earthquake struck Colombia on Monday. The footage, posted by Brian Osorio Zuluaga, documents an emotional rescue as neighbors and volunteers work frantically to free survivors.

Rescue Footage Captures Dramatic Moment

In the clips Zuluaga posted, rescuers can be seen sifting through concrete and debris by hand. At one point they ask a trapped survivor if he is alone; in a muffled voice he answers, "I'm with a baby." As people pry away chunks of concrete, faint cries of an infant are heard. A separate clip shows a man holding the crying child, his arms stained with blood while the lower half of his body remains pinned beneath rubble.

Five men carefully work together to free the baby. Once the child is released, the rescuers shout for a paramedic and erupt in cheers. The final clip shows the same group continuing their efforts to extricate the adult who had been holding the infant.

"Today I understood, more than ever, that no one is really prepared to live through a situation like the one we are experiencing today," Zuluaga wrote alongside the videos. "A helping hand can make the difference between life and death. In moments like this, differences don't matter, what matters is helping."

Casualties, Search Efforts and International Aid

Officials reported at least 181 people killed and 2,595 injured in the quake, while civilian-run databases estimated nearly 4,000 people were still unaccounted for. Search-and-rescue teams and volunteers across the country are racing against time to find anyone who may remain alive under collapsed structures.

International assistance has begun to arrive. The United States offered more than $15 million in aid. Mexico said it stood ready to send search and medical teams along with supplies and equipment. El Salvador's president, Nayib Bukele, announced two planes carrying about 100 tons of aid would be dispatched in the coming days. "Our prayers are with the families of the victims, the wounded and all the Colombian people," Bukele wrote on X.

Officials had not immediately released updates on the conditions of the baby or the adult who held him. Local volunteers and first responders remain on the scene, continuing recovery and relief operations.
