Surveillance Video Shows Man Assaulting Hard Rock Cafe Bartender in Miami; Police Seek Suspect

A Hard Rock Cafe server says she was assaulted twice inside the chain's Miami location at Bayside Marketplace, and surveillance footage of the attack is now circulating online as Miami police try to identify the suspect.
The employee, identified in local reports as Nicky Roberts, suffered a concussion, facial bruising and a broken tooth. Roberts says the incident began after she told a customer to stop taking lemons and limes from an employee-only area.

According to Roberts and local coverage, the customer responded with a profanity and later claimed he was a veteran with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He moved away from the bar but returned roughly 30 minutes later, at which point the encounter escalated.
What the Video Shows
Surveillance footage shared online appears to show the man walking toward Roberts and shoving her backward. Roberts told Local 10 News that the attacker grabbed her near the collarbone and neck and pushed her to the floor. After getting up, Roberts said she pursued the man to photograph his face as he left; the footage and her account indicate he struck or grabbed her again, slapped her phone away and shoved her to the ground a second time.

"I literally flew back and hit the rack with my head," Roberts told reporters. "Nobody is going to chase after the guy."
Roberts received emergency dental treatment for a broken tooth and was diagnosed with a concussion. She says the assault has left her too frightened to return to work.
Investigation and Public Appeal
Miami police confirmed officers responded to the Hard Rock Cafe after an assault report was filed, but as of this writing no arrest had been announced and detectives have not publicly identified a suspect. The search widened after Michael McWhorter, known online as TizzyEnt, posted the security footage and asked followers to help identify the man. McWhorter said members of the customer's party—including the man's wife—were questioned but declined to identify him; authorities have not confirmed that detail.

Roberts has said she hopes the viral video will achieve what she says did not happen inside the restaurant: hold the alleged attacker accountable. "It's become a trend for this violence on women, and it's kind of being normalized," she told 7News. "I just don't want to let another one of these people get away with that."
