Nickolay Mladenov, Director-General of the Board of Peace and High Representative for Gaza, said on Sunday that recent IDF strikes are undermining efforts to disarm armed groups and establish civilian governance in Gaza. He warned the strikes have killed civilians and destroyed vital medical supplies. The IDF says it killed two Hamas commanders over the weekend and three militants from separate groups during the past week. Senior U.S. and BoP officials urged Israel to honor the 20-point plan it previously accepted.
Mladenov: Israeli Strikes Are Hampering BoP Disarmament Work, Damaging Medical Aid in Gaza

Board of Peace (BoP) Director-General and High Representative for Gaza Nickolay Mladenov warned on Sunday that recent Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) strikes are disrupting the BoP’s efforts to disarm armed groups and restore civilian governance in Gaza.
Speaking on X/Twitter, Mladenov said the strikes have had immediate humanitarian consequences. "Two days of strikes across Gaza have killed civilians and destroyed medical supplies that people depend on," he wrote.
"My team and I are working around the clock with the parties, the mediators and regional partners to de-escalate and create the space for the full implementation of the [US] President's plan," Mladenov added. "Achieving a lasting peace is hard but achievable if everyone makes their best efforts."
Mladenov said the BoP’s current priorities are disarming "Palestinian factions" in Gaza and establishing a functioning civilian authority. He emphasized that both Israel and the Palestinian factions carry obligations under the agreement and must respect them to allow the plan to succeed.
Military Developments
The IDF announced earlier on Sunday that it had killed two Hamas commanders in Gaza over the weekend. The military also said it had eliminated three militants from three separate Gaza-based groups during the past week. These operations, the IDF said, are part of ongoing security efforts in the territory.
Diplomatic Push
Senior White House and BoP officials told The Jerusalem Post that they are not asking Israel to take steps beyond the 20-point plan it initially agreed to. "We're very confident they will adhere to it," the officials said, adding that failure to do so would be deeply disappointing.
