Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned that Tehran would respond decisively to any new U.S. military strikes and said the U.S., Israel and any involved Gulf states would bear full responsibility. The statement followed calls with Saudi, Turkish and Pakistani officials amid U.S. media reports that Washington was weighing a major strike on Iranian targets. Tehran has threatened retaliation against critical infrastructure, including energy sites, and has already struck targets in Gulf states since late February.
Iran Warns Of Decisive Response If U.S. Launches New Attacks

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Saturday that Tehran's armed forces would deliver a decisive response to any fresh U.S. military aggression, assigning full responsibility to the United States, Israel and any Gulf states involved.
In a message on Telegram sent after a call with Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan, Araghchi said Tehran would hold those parties fully accountable for any new strikes. The warning follows wide media reporting that Washington was considering a significant new military action against targets inside Iran.
According to U.S. media reports, Iranian officials have threatened retaliatory strikes on critical infrastructure, including energy facilities, in Israel and Gulf countries if they are attacked. Tehran has repeatedly signaled that its response would be proportionate and aimed at deterring further escalation.
Since the conflict began in late February, Iran has periodically struck sites in Gulf states that host U.S. military bases. Saudi Arabia has been targeted in several of those exchanges, heightening regional concerns about a wider confrontation.
Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reportedly spoke with then–U.S. President Donald Trump to express Riyadh's concerns and urge de-escalation, U.S. news site Axios said, citing sources familiar with the talks. Araghchi also held calls with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan and Pakistan's army chief, Field Marshal Asim Munir—who recently helped mediate between Washington and Tehran—reiterating Iran's determination to respond firmly to any attack.
Bottom line: Iran is publicly warning of firm retaliation to any new U.S. strikes, while regional actors press for de-escalation amid media reports of possible U.S. military options.
