Three Palestinians were slightly injured after Israeli settler extremists attacked the West Bank village of Surif, torching vehicles and at least one building and spray-painting threats. IDF troops and Israel Police were dispatched to collect evidence and interview witnesses, finding burned cars and graffiti but making no arrests so far. Authorities have opened investigations and separately arrested a suspect linked to a June attack in Huwara. The IDF has deployed two additional battalions to the West Bank amid rising tensions.

Three Palestinians sustained minor injuries after Israeli settler extremists attacked the West Bank village of Surif overnight on Saturday, Army Radio reported.

The assailants allegedly set fire to vehicles and at least one building, assaulted residents with clubs, deployed tear gas and spray-painted threatening graffiti on structures across the village.

Army Radio said IDF troops were dispatched to the area shortly after the incident to search for suspects and to collect evidence. Troops located the burned vehicles and the graffiti at the scene, but no arrests have been made in connection with the Surif attack.

Israel Police has also opened an investigation. Officers from the Judea and Samaria District have begun gathering evidence and taking witness statements as part of the probe.

Separately, security officials on Wednesday arrested an Israeli resident of the West Bank accused of participating in a similar extremist assault on Palestinians in Huwara in June. In that attack, several Palestinians required hospitalization after being wounded; many of the suspected assailants were reported to have worn masks to conceal their identities.

On Monday the IDF announced the deployment of two additional battalions to the West Bank in a bid to curb a recent escalation of extremist settler violence and Palestinian militant attacks. Operations tied to that deployment have included activity in areas such as the village of Tell near Nablus.
