Iran warned it could carry out retaliatory strikes on critical infrastructure in Israel and Gulf states after US media reported President Trump was considering fresh strikes on targets inside Iran. State-linked agencies Tasnim and Fars cited security sources saying energy facilities in Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE are within Iranian missile range. US outlets reported possible targeting of Iran's energy infrastructure but said no final decision has been made. President Trump warned he would "hit them very hard," offering no timeline.

Iran warned early on Saturday that it could launch retaliatory strikes against critical infrastructure in Israel and Gulf states after US media reported that President Trump was considering new attacks on targets inside Iran.

What Happened

State-linked Iranian agencies Tasnim and Fars, citing unnamed security sources, relayed the warning. Fars specifically warned that energy facilities of global importance in Saudi Arabia and Qatar were within range of Iranian missiles, and it also mentioned potential reach to facilities in Kuwait and the United Arab Emirates.

Iranian Response

Tasnim quoted a senior Iranian security official saying there is a "comprehensive plan" for retaliatory strikes and that Iran's military has already demonstrated both the capability and the determination to conduct counterattacks.

"There is a comprehensive plan for retaliatory strikes," a senior Iranian security official told Tasnim.

US Media Reports And Political Context

Earlier, CBS News and The Wall Street Journal reported that President Trump was weighing fresh strikes on Iran, possibly as soon as the coming weekend, citing people familiar with the matter. Axios reported that any new actions could again target Iran's energy infrastructure. Those outlets said no final decision had been made.

The reports also said Israel could re-enter the conflict; Israel and Iran last exchanged attacks in early June.

White House Remarks

At a Friday Cabinet meeting at the Camp David presidential retreat, President Trump warned of further action against Iran, saying, "We'll be hitting them very hard." He provided no timeline or operational details. Asked about the next four weeks, he added: "You know, at some point they're going to say, 'We just can't take it anymore.'"

What This Means

The developments raise the risk of escalation in an already tense region. Reports that energy infrastructure could be targeted elevate the potential economic and geopolitical consequences beyond the immediate military stakes. At present, claims are based on state-linked Iranian media and US news reports; independent verification of specific plans or timelines was not available at the time of reporting.
