Chef Joe Gera took to X to publicly rebuke Republican attacks on Dr. Anthony Fauci after Sen. Rand Paul shared a meme mocking vaccines. Gera said he catered an event Paul attended in early 2022 that required vaccination, RSVP and a negative COVID test, and used that to challenge Paul's vaccine rhetoric. He also called out Sen. Ron Johnson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. as vaccinated despite their public statements. Fauci, meanwhile, invoked the Fifth Amendment repeatedly during his Capitol Hill testimony.
Chef Joe Gera Fires Back at Rand Paul Over 'Fauci Ouchie' Meme: 'By All Means, Keep Bullsh*tting'

A Pittsburgh chef publicly rebuked Republican senators on X for repeatedly attacking Dr. Anthony Fauci, directing a blunt message at Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) after the senator shared a meme mocking vaccines.
What Happened
Sen. Rand Paul posted an AI-style cartoon of Dr. Fauci receiving a vaccine shot under the headline 'Did You Get Your Fauci Ouchie?' alongside the caption: 'Remember: Anthony Fauci was all about "following the science," until it came to vaccines. He was all about forcing you into compliance, even though we all knew infection was the best protection.'
Chef Joe Gera's Response
Chef Joe Gera, an award-winning Pittsburgh-based caterer, fired back on X, telling Paul: 'You were vaccinated. Multiple times. How do I know?' He explained that he catered an event Paul attended in early 2022 where the venue required proof of vaccination to attend unmasked, an RSVP and a negative COVID test.
'You also had to RSVP well in advance and provide a negative COVID test before the event. So if you were there, you met those requirements. But by all means, keep bullsh*tting.'
Gera followed up in another post: '…Your continued bullsh*t about this is beyond insane.' He made similar calls-out of Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) and Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., saying they too were vaccinated despite public statements questioning vaccines.
Fauci's Testimony
During his Capitol Hill appearance, Dr. Fauci invoked his Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination more than 100 times and declined to answer many of Sen. Paul's questions for nearly 45 minutes. At one point Fauci characterized Paul's persistent questioning as an 'unhinged obsession.'
