The UN General Assembly overwhelmingly approved a resolution demanding Israel grant unrestricted humanitarian access to Gaza, stop attacks on UN facilities, and uphold its obligations under international law following an October ICJ advisory opinion.
The resolution, tabled by Norway, passed 139-12 with 19 abstentions; Israel and the United States voted against it.
UNRWA and Palestinian officials welcomed the vote as endorsement of legal findings and support for aid operations, while the US representative argued the Assembly unfairly targets Israel.
