Nick Reiner, 32, was written up after an alleged "extremely hostile" verbal confrontation with deputies at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility on April 27. Sources say he became irate after being asked to wait following a shower, shouted profanities and prompted backup to respond, though the situation did not turn physical. He lost visitation, phone and commissary privileges. Reiner remains jailed on two counts of first-degree murder; a judge will review on September 15 whether the case should proceed to trial.

Nick Reiner, 32, was issued a disciplinary write-up after an alleged verbal confrontation with jail staff at the Los Angeles County Twin Towers Correctional Facility, according to People.

The incident occurred on April 27 at about 8:15 a.m. in Tower 1, where Reiner is being housed in a medical observation unit with heightened security. A source told the outlet that Reiner became frustrated after finishing a shower and being told to wait before being escorted back to his cell.

"He was recalcitrant, extremely hostile, creating a verbal disturbance, refusing to follow rules and not listening to any commands. He was yelling, screaming, being disrespectful and shouting many profanities."

According to the source, Reiner directed profanities at a sheriff and a sergeant, prompting a deputy to call for backup; three additional deputies reportedly responded. The source emphasized that the exchange did not become physical.

Case Background

Reiner has been jailed since his December 2025 arrest in connection with the stabbing deaths of his parents, filmmaker Rob Reiner and producer Michele Singer Reiner, who were found stabbed in their Brentwood, California home on December 14, 2025. Prosecutors have charged him with two counts of first-degree murder with special circumstances. In February he pleaded not guilty to both counts. He waived his right to a speedy trial and is due in court on September 15, when a judge will determine whether prosecutors have presented sufficient evidence for the case to proceed to trial.

Rob and Michele Reiner are survived by their son Jake and daughter Romy.
