NASA has selected a four-person, multinational crew for the SpaceX Crew-13 mission, set to launch in mid-September to the International Space Station. Jessica Watkins will command the flight, becoming the first NASA astronaut to fly on a SpaceX Dragon twice, while Luke Delaney will serve as pilot. Mission specialists Joshua Kutryk (CSA) and Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos) join the team for long-duration science and technology demonstrations that will support future Moon and Mars exploration.
NASA Names Four-Person Crew for SpaceX Crew-13 Mission to the ISS

NASA announced on Thursday that SpaceX Crew-13 will carry a four-person, multinational team to the International Space Station this September. The crew includes representatives from NASA, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and Roscosmos, and will conduct a long-duration science mission aimed at advancing research and technology for future exploration.
Crew Manifest
Jessica Watkins (NASA) — Spacecraft Commander
Watkins will make her second trip to the station and will command the Crew-13 vehicle. A 2017 astronaut selectee, she holds a B.S. in Geological and Environmental Sciences from Stanford University and a Ph.D. in Geology from UCLA. Watkins worked on Martian surface studies as part of the Curiosity rover science team at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and previously spent 170 days in space on Expeditions 67/68. She will be the first NASA astronaut to fly on a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft twice.
Luke Delaney (NASA) — Pilot
Selected as a NASA astronaut in 2021, Delaney earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of North Florida and an M.S. in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. A distinguished naval aviator and test pilot, he has supported missions across the Asia-Pacific region and served as a research pilot at NASA’s Langley Research Center. This will be his first spaceflight.
Joshua Kutryk (CSA) — Mission Specialist
Kutryk, selected by the Canadian Space Agency in 2017, is a former CF-18 fighter pilot and test pilot. He earned a B.Eng. in Mechanical Engineering from the Royal Military College of Canada, is a distinguished graduate of the U.S. Air Force Test Pilot School, and holds master’s degrees in space studies, flight test engineering and defense studies. Crew-13 will be his first trip to space.
Sergey Teteryatnikov (Roscosmos) — Mission Specialist
Teteryatnikov graduated from the Naval Academy in St. Petersburg in 2011 with an engineering specialization in ship power plant operations. He served in naval engineering roles, including on undersea vessels, before joining the Gagarin Research and Test Cosmonaut Training Center Cosmonaut Corps in 2021. He has served as a test cosmonaut since 2023 and will fly to the station for the first time as part of Crew-13.
Mission Overview
The Crew-13 team is scheduled to launch in mid-September for a long-duration science mission and will join Expedition 75 aboard the orbital laboratory. According to NASA, the crew will conduct scientific investigations and technology demonstrations designed to advance human exploration capabilities for the Moon and Mars while delivering benefits to people on Earth.
“This September, we're sending a new crew to the @Space_Station! Meet the four members of our SpaceX Crew-13 mission, who will help us learn how to live in space while making life better back on Earth,” NASA wrote in a social media post announcing the team.
This flight is the 13th crew rotation flown by SpaceX under NASA’s Commercial Crew Program. The mission continues the partnership between NASA and commercial providers to maintain continuous U.S. crewed access to the station while enabling a robust science and technology agenda in low Earth orbit.
