User Reports

Users across locations from Marion County, Florida, to Bangladesh and Greece reported disruptions. Several people posted screenshots showing an "Account Temporarily Unavailable" message. Writer Brandon Wenerd shared a screenshot on X, and other users noted the outage appeared to affect desktop access more than mobile in some cases.

Response and Resolution

The Independent has contacted Meta, Facebook’s parent company, for comment and official confirmation. By Tuesday evening, incident counts on Downdetector had fallen back to near-normal levels, suggesting the disruption was short-lived.

Background

This episode follows a brief Instagram outage last month; both services are owned by Meta. Outage-tracking sites like Downdetector can help spot widespread issues quickly, but they rely on user reports and should be considered alongside official company statements.

Note: Downdetector reflects user-submitted reports and may not represent the full scope of an outage. Official details and root causes typically come from the service provider.
