SpaceX's Falcon 9 is set to launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base on Dec. 10 with a launch window from 12:54 a.m. to 4:54 a.m. PT. The mission will carry multiple satellites to orbit if all systems and weather cooperate. Visibility could extend across a broad area of California, weather permitting.

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) — A SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket is scheduled to lift off from Vandenberg Space Force Base in the early hours of Dec. 10, carrying multiple satellites to orbit.

Launch Window

The launch window opens at 12:54 a.m. PT and closes at 4:54 a.m. PT on Dec. 10, officials said. If conditions and systems check out, the Falcon 9 will depart within that window.

Mission Overview

If the mission proceeds as planned, several satellites will be deployed into orbit. Detailed information about the payloads and their operators has not been disclosed in the initial report.

Visibility

Weather permitting, the launch could be visible across a wide region. Observers in and around Bakersfield and other parts of central and coastal California may see the ascent, especially if skies are clear.
