Greene Says Trump’s “Traitor” Label ‘Directly Fueled’ Pipe‑Bomb Threat, Death Threats Against Her Family

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene told CBS’s 60 Minutes that President Trump’s repeated public labeling of her as a “traitor” "directly fueled" a pipe‑bomb threat at her home and multiple death threats against her son. Greene said she forwarded the threatening messages to President Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance; Vance replied he would “look into it,” while Greene described Mr. Trump’s private response as “extremely unkind.” The interview follows a public split between Greene and Trump over the release of documents tied to Jeffrey Epstein, and Greene confirmed she plans to resign from Congress on Jan. 5.

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R‑Ga.) told CBS’s 60 Minutes that she believes President Donald Trump’s repeated public labeling of her as a “traitor” “directly fueled” a series of threats against her home and family.

Greene said the threats began "right after" Trump called her a traitor, including a pipe‑bomb threat left at her residence and multiple direct death threats aimed at her son. She told the program she forwarded those messages to both President Trump and Sen. J.D. Vance.

“And then I got several direct death threats on my son,” Greene said. “The subject line for the direct death threats on my son was his words: ‘Marjorie Traitor Greene.’ Those were death threats directly fueled by President Trump.”

According to Greene, Sen. J.D. Vance replied to her that he would “look into it.” She described the private response she received from President Trump as “extremely unkind” and declined to repeat it on camera.

Lesley Stahl, the 60 Minutes correspondent who conducted the interview, pressed Greene for a hint about Mr. Trump’s message; Greene reiterated only that it was “extremely unkind.”

The interview aired amid a widening public split between Greene and the president after she criticized his initial position on releasing documents connected to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Mr. Trump later backed public release of the files but continued to call Greene a “traitor.”

Greene also confirmed she will resign from Congress on Jan. 5.

Key Context

The remarks come as tensions between Greene and the former president have played out publicly, highlighting intra‑party divisions over accountability and the release of sensitive materials. Greene says she reported the threats to federal authorities as well as to political allies.
